Grant Process
The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation supports shelter-related causes in Ontario. 'Shelter-related causes' are defined as registered charities that provide individual Ontarians with a refuge, haven, or other type of protection from the effects of hunger, the elements, abuse, disabilities, and illness.

Please note the process for applying for a grant from the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation has changed.
To submit your application for consideration once the process opens, please read below and note that all applications must go through your local Real Estate Board or Association for submission to us. Applications sent directly to the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation will be returned.
Grant requests are not accepted for:
- Budget deficits & staffing costs
- Fundraising events
- Endowments
- Theatre or performing arts groups
- Private foundations
- Service or fraternal clubs
- Agencies/organizations that raise funds for distribution to other community organizations
- Agencies/organizations that are focused on supporting animals
- Third-party organizations fundraising on behalf of a shelter-related charity
- Agencies/organizations that do not have a charitable registration number or other proof that they are a registered charity
Please follow these steps to apply:
- Locate and contact your local Real Estate Board or Association.
- You may reach out to them for this year’s grant cycle when it opens. The earlier you can do so, the better, as the deadline for them to submit all applications to the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation is late September 2024.
- They will provide you with:
- The Grant Application PDF for you to fill out and return to them.
- A letter stating that they endorse your charitable work in their community.
- The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation’s Grants and Awards Committee will receive and review all applications that charitable organizations have made to their local Real Estate Board or Association.
- Grants are disbursed before the end of the 2024 calendar year.
