Grants Process

The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation supports shelter-related causes in Ontario. 'Shelter-related causes' are defined as registered charities that provide individual Ontarians with a refuge, haven, or other type of protection from the effects of hunger, the elements, abuse, disabilities, and illness.

To submit your application for consideration, please refer to "How to Apply" below. Note that all applications must go through your local Real Estate Board or Association for submission to us. Applications sent directly to the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation will be returned.  

How to apply: 

  1. Locate and contact your local Real Estate Board or Association.
    The 2025 grant cycle is now open, and the Foundation is accepting applications. All completed applications are due to the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation before September 30, 2025. We strongly advise all charitable organizations looking for funding completes their application by mid-September, allowing local Real Estate Board/Association sufficient time to review.
  2. Your local Real Estate Board or Association will provide you with a Grant Application PDF for you to fill out and return. Please note that you must submit your application to your local Real Estate Board and/or Association. Any application sent directly to the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation will not be considered and will be returned.
  3. The Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation’s Grants and Awards Committee will receive and review all applications that charitable organizations have made to their local Real Estate Board or Association.
  4. Grants are disbursed before the end of the 2025 calendar year.

  • Budget deficits & staffing costs
  • Fundraising events
  • Endowments
  • Theatre or performing arts groups
  • Private foundations
  • Service or fraternal clubs
  • Agencies/organizations that raise funds for distribution to other community organizations
  • Agencies/organizations that are focused on supporting animals
  • Third-party organizations fundraising on behalf of a shelter-related charity
  • Agencies/organizations that do not have a charitable registration number or other proof that they are a registered charity
