The work of the REALTORS Care Foundation is made possible through the generous support of REALTORS® and local Real Estate Boards from across Ontario. Since its original inception the REALTORS Care Foundation has granted more than $2 million on behalf of Ontario REALTORS® and individual donors to shelter-based charitable organizations across Ontario.  From its Toronto headquarters, the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) funds all administrative costs of REALTORS Care Foundation. That means all donor dollars go directly to the shelter-related causes funded by the Foundation.  Tragically, for thousands of Canadians, home is a distant memory or an impossible dream. They are the poor, the victims of domestic abuse, the mentally and physically disabled. Some live on the street, some in group shelters. Others live in substandard housing or in whatever space family or friends can share.

An estimated one in three are young people between 16 and 24, who should be finishing their education and starting their careers. Thousands are younger children whose chances to learn and grow into happy, productive adults are seriously hampered by their homelessness.

Each year, the REALTORS Care Foundation helps families in need of emergency and permanent housing through our work with charities like Home Ownership Affordability Partnership (HOAP), Habitat for Humanity, Shelters, Community Living and Hospices.  The REALTORS Care Foundation is making a real difference in the community and the lives of many who rely on shelters for warmth, comfort and safety. Money raised by the Foundation comes from a number of annual charity events, some of which are held in Toronto, while others take place across the province of Ontario.
