T he REALTORS Care Foundation was founded as the Canadian Real Estate Board Foundation – Ontario Fund in 1967 as part of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) Foundation.
In 1978 the Foundation returned as a provincial organization -- named the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) Foundation.
For 21 years, from 1978 to 1999, grants were made to a variety of charitable organization across Ontario. In 1999 the decision was made to focus grant monies primarily to shelter-based charitable organizations.
In 2002 Foundation Board introduced the fellowship program (find out more about this program on Page 5) – a special program to recognize donors to the Foundation.
Four years later the Foundation celebrated another exciting change. In 2006 the name of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) Foundation changed to the REALTORS Care Foundation.

How the Foundation is funded.
In 2004, the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) Directors decided to fund all administrative costs. That means all donor dollars go directly to the shelter-related causes funded by the Foundation.
Foundation Directors truly appreciate the generosity and strong support of OREA.
Personal
donations that generously support the Foundation are complimented by the
Foundation's annual events - The REALTORS Care Foundation "Jam with A Past President" event, the Every
REALTOR® Campaign and the REALTORS Care Foundation Motorcycle
RIDE for Charity, which started in 2006.
These events raise thousands of dollars in support of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
Donations to the REALTORS Care Foundation make a real difference, supporting people and communities, changing the lives of those who rely on organizations that offer warmth, comfort and safety.
