REALTORS Care Foundation 2007 Annual Report

The Board of Governors were asked to raise the endowment fund to 1.5 million dollars by 2005, which was achieved.

Today, endowment fund is sitting at 2.1 million dollars as September 1, 2007.

The Foundation’s expenses for 2007 were $161,616.  $7,384 less than the $169,000 budget provided by OREA.

The Foundation granted $90,000 to 23 shelter related charities:

  • Habitat for Humanity Huron County
  • Habitat for Humanity Muskoka
  • Habitat for Humanity North Simcoe
  • Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Hastings
  • Habitat for Humanity Sarnia
  • Habitat for Humanity Southern Georgian Bay
  • Habitat for Humanity for Sudbury
  • Habitat for Humanity for Thunder Bay
  • Habitat for Humanity for Toronto
  • Habitat for Humanity Wellington County
  • Victoria County Women's Resources Services
  • Women's Crisis Services
  • Kitchener Waterloo Out of the Cold
  • Home At Last (HAL) in London
  • Alzheimer Society of Peel
  • Brain Injury Community
  • North Bay Real Estate - HOAP
  • YWCA Cross Roads Shelter One
  • Hamilton-Burlington Real Estate Board - HOAP
  • Leeds & Grenville Interval House

Every REALTOR® Campaign ($1 per member per month) has the following real estate boards:

  3. London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS® (1,398 REALTOR® members)
  4. Peterborough and the Kawarthas Association of REALTORS® Inc. (459 REALTOR® members)
  5. REALTORS® Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound (354 REALTOR® members)
  6. Renfrew County Real Estate Board
  7. Southern Georgian Bay Real Estate Association (153 REALTOR® members)
  8. Sarnia-Lambton Real Estate Board (212 REALTOR® members)
  9. Thunder Bay Real Estate Board (184 REALTOR® members)

REALTORS Care Foundation Key Program: Where REALTORS® make a donation to the Foundation and corporations will either match the donation or give REALTOR® clients a discount/preferred service which will generate a donation back to the Foundation.  Currently we have BMO Nesbitt Burns matching the donations made by REALTORS® on each of their transaction.

A strong strategic plan for the future of the Foundation endorsed by the Board of Governors.
